Tranny, Trucker, and a Trade Show: This Season is all about the Boys

As the tents pop up in NYC its hard to ignore two dominant fashion focuses this season. Designers are definitely channeling menswear and the working women. From excess glitter and velour to suits and barnyard attire were seeing allot of masculine looks right now.

Yves Saint Laurent went with the office look in their most recent ads. Obnoxiously fluffy blouses and MC Hammer pants transform Christie Turlington into a serious cubical co worker.

Fendi, Prada, and Chanel seem to have sided with the working women as well. The looks this season are very barnyard Luxury. Tall field working leather boots, thin belts, frizzed hair, and blazers literally gives us chills, with hair pulled back in tight buns the models look some what lurk in these Erie ads.

Other designers opted for the more flashy, elite, and exclusive, yet drag queen galore at the same time.
Marc Jacobs use of purple denim and velour is chic and warm.

Gucci is all about the glitter this season, with suits that sparkle and loud prints these looks are edgy and percise. Each model has perfectly straighten hair with crisp black eye liner.

Oscar de la Renta follows suit with vibrant velour, carefully crafted buns, and fur.

Dolce and Gabbana looks more like the one eyed flying purple people eater.. not a fan of this look.

Even Jewelry Designers have jumped on the band wagon. Normally gorgeous and, "clunky" David Yurman has designed a even more solid line of fine silvers and stones.

Guess has leaned towards the dirty truck driver, ripped jeans style.

The New NFL Line Up

There is no denying it: The 80's are back and so are these stylish quarter backs. Shoulder pads are all the rage amongst designers this fall, and I'm sure the tents in NYC will be packed with broad shoulders and buzzed hair cuts.

Is all about menswear this season? It seems the "working girl," image is making an overdue comeback, but women are tapping into more than just independence. This season seems to be all about channelling our inner masculinity.

From the ORIGINAL Casey buzz cut, which sent risk takers all over into a state of bootleg buzzing frenzy, to Christian Louboutin's Oxford glitter flats, and now these shoulder pads? These ladies wear it better than men.

Fashion Week Hearts Charlie Chaplin?

Christian Louboutin Fred Glitter Flats:

These flats which can be purchased for $595.00 on Barneys.com are sweeping fashion week, but are they even cute? I can't help, but think of old school tap dancers when I see these.

-Seriously, my school does an annual Dance show which brings in senior citizen tap dancers.

They were wearing these shoes...

Being that I am half the size of a normal person (5'2 on a good day) I'm a platform person.

Flats ... I'm picky about. I'm a frequent Tory Burch fan, because their affordable, yet still chic (although until about the 3rd week their not exactly "bunion" friendly).

So, am I being too narrow minded? Would you wear these?

By the way a cheaper version made by Kimchi and Blue, is available on Urban Outfitters.com http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/urban/catalog/productdetail.jsp?navAction=jump&isProduct=true&id=16709750
